Written By: Mary Chase

Elwood P. Dowd is a friendly, easy-going man who starts trying to introduce the townspeople to his 6’3” friend… an invisible rabbit. Not having any more of her brother’s eccentric behavior, his sister tries to have him committed to a sanitarium, leading to unexpected mayhem and surprise interactions between all of the characters. Mary Chase received a Pulitzer Prize for Drama for Harvey in 1945. The play was turned into a movie in 1950 starring James Stewart.
